Brian A. Riemer Joins EACEF Board

EACEF announced today that Brian A. Riemer has joined its Board of Directors. Brian is an Associate at Audax Mezzanine, a leading capital source for middle market companies. He also is a partner at Riemer Brothers LLC, a South Florida based real estate company. Previously, Brian worked as an Investment Banking Analyst with Peter J. Solomon Company in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Restructuring Groups. He received an A.B. with honors in Economics from Harvard University.

Nemmy Ngigi Joins EACEF Board

EACEF announced today that Nemmy Ngigi has joined its Board of Directors. Nemmy is a recent graduate of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa where he received a Bachelors of Law in 2014. In January of 2015, he will join the Kenya School of Law for his post graduate diploma in law, after which he will become an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is currently working at the Kilimani Project Foundation, a community development non-governmental organization established to improve the social-economic welfare of those that live and work in the suburb of Kilimani in Nairobi, Kenya. He is an active volunteer with a number of organizations across Nairobi and Central Province, Kenya. He has traveled to the United States and the Middle East, and extensively in Africa.

Patrick J. Furlong Joins EACEF Board

EACEF announced today that Patrick J. Furlong has joined its Board of Directors. Patrick is an Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Peter J. Solomon Company, a leading boutique investment bank in New York City. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the Huntsman Program, a select dual-degree program in international studies and business at the University of Pennsylvania, where he wrote an honors thesis on neoliberal economic development. He holds a B.A. degree in International Studies from the School of Arts and Sciences and a B.S. degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business. Patrick has lived and traveled extensively in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.

Completion of Shalom Junior School Block 4

Today EACEF completed Block 4 of Shalom Junior School outside Fort Portal, Uganda. The new block will house additional classroom space as well as a library and art room for Shalom's 200+ students. Since 2008, EACEF and its partners have built 11 classrooms, staff offices and other school facilities at Shalom Junior School. EACEF is currently in the process of bringing electricity to the school as well as installing a playground, soccer field, basketball court and volleyball court. EACEF is fundraising for the construction of a kitchen / mess hall and boys' and girls' dormitories to house an additional 160 students. Click here to learn more about the Shalom Project. Stewart L. Long Joins EACEF Board

We are excited to announce that Stewart L. Long has joined the Board of Directors of EACEF. Stewart is an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in the Consumer / Retail group. Stewart brings a range of non-profit experience to EACEF. She previously led or co-founded organizations focused on issues ranging from promoting youth social engagement to empowering minority entrepreneurs.

Joshua M. Ford Joins EACEF Board

EACEF announced today that Joshua M. Ford has joined its Board of Directors. Joshua is a management consultant at IBM. Joshua brings to EACEF significant experience in non-profit management and international development. He previously founded or led organizations dealing with youth social engagement and education in Ecuador. Joshua was a Fulbright Scholar in Mexico City and a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Kimberly N. Hayez Joins EACEF Board

We are pleased to announce that Kimberly N. Hayez has joined the Board of Directors of EACEF. Kimberly is a financial services professional whose experience includes emerging markets investing at Investcorp in Bahrain and mergers and acquisitions advisory at Deutsche Bank in New York. Kimberly brings to EACEF experience in non-profit management and expertise in public health.

Benefit Show A Success

The EACEF Benefit Show on February 19th at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta was a huge success! Over 500 students from more than six Atlanta area high schools attended the event. The Show featured acts by performing artist Gorilla Zoe, as well as rising stars including Dow Jones, Lil Shaun, and Jaquis. Thanks to a matching grant, the concert took in over $27,000 that will be used to fund EACEF's feeding programs at Kirimara Primary School and C hania Primary School.

Be at the Fox Theater in Downtown Atlanta on Friday, February 19th for EACEF's Benefit Show with Gorilla Zoe! Regular admission is $28 and VIP admission is $42.
